Physician - General Surgery Job in Charleston, SC

  • Established practice currently consists of Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Trauma, General Surgery Trauma, and General Surgery.
  • Competitive compensation package consisting of a guaranteed base salary + Wrvu incentive, comprehensive benefits package, paid occurrence based malpractice, PTO, CME, 401K, as well as several other negotiable incentives.
  • There is one dedicated trauma room with helipad on-site.
  • All critical care and emergency nurses have special training in trauma nursing and advanced cardiac and pediatric life support.
  • Evidence of scholarship such as peer-reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in textbooks, publications/presentations of case reports or clinical series at local, regional, or national professional and scientific society meetings, or participation in national committees or educational organizations.
  • Trident Medical Center is one of two Level II trauma centers in South Carolina and the only Level II trauma program in SC certified by the American College of Surgeons and Dhec.
  • Board certification by the American Board of Surgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.
  • Trauma surgeons treated 1854 patients in 2018, identified as those who suffer life-threatening injuries with potential for secondary complications such as shock, respiratory failure or death.
  • HCA is seeking a board certified surgeon to serve as program director and join their employed multi-specialty surgical practice affiliate of Trident Health System in Charleston, SC.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Prior Experience as a faculty member in an Acgme accredited surgery residency or fellowship with one of those years as Associate Program Director.
  • We have five trauma surgeons, a trauma orthopedic surgeon, anesthesiologists, emergency department physicians and onsite laboratory.
