Anesthesiologist Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage at Facility in Palatka, Florida

A busy hospital is seeking an anesthesiologist for locum tenens coverage.In Palatka, FL, you can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities like exploring the beautiful Ravine Gardens State Park, known for its stunning azalea blooms in spring. The St. Johns River offers great opportunities for boating, fishing, and waterfront dining. Additionally, the city hosts several cultural events throughout the year, including the popular Blue Crab Festival.The credentialing process for this opportunity takes approximately 90 days. The facility operates with a two-MD model, where two physicians work on a two-week on, two-week off schedule, and medically supervise four CRNAs. The facility features four operating rooms, one endoscopy room, and one OB OR. It has a 7-bed PACU and an 8-bed pre-op area. The cases handled include general B&B and OB, with a small number of healthy pediatric ENT cases. The surgical team consists of two general surgeons, two gastric surgeons, a podiatrist handling about 10 cases per month, an ENT performing around 12 cases per month, two urologists each handling about 10 cases per month, and an ophthalmologist performing 10 cataract surgeries every Wednesday. Currently, there is one OB doctor managing 20-25 deliveries per month, with the hospital actively recruiting a second OB doctor.
